About Röhll munitions recovery
Röhll Munitionsbergung GmbH is a highly specialised company in the field of the detection and disposal of explosive ordnance and warfare agents. Röhll is renowned throughout Germany for the competency of its long-standing specialist employees, reliable measuring and evaluation techniques and the state-of-the-art recovery technology at its disposal. Furthermore, the comprehensive service provider for munitions detection and recovery is a reliable contract partner for multiple German states and major companies. Occupational safety is always the top priority for Röhll during projects to ensure the safety of people and the environment.
Röhll is europe's oldest explosive disposal (EOD) service
The company was founded in 1946 under the traditional name of Röhll as the first ordnance recovery service in Europe. It played a key role in the reparation of damage caused during the Second World War. Röhll was responsible for destroying bunkers, bridges and ruins – including the former Reich Chancellery in Berlin's Wilhelmstraße. Shortly afterwards, branches were established in Bremen and Augsburg in Prinzregentenplatz. In addition to the extensive range of demolition projects and the clearance of contaminated sites, Röhll was also tasked with recovering all munitions in Bavaria.
Explosive ordnance disposal throughout Germany
The company headquarters are located in Brandenburg an der Havel and a branch office is located in Frankfurt an der Oder. Röhll currently employs around 180 specialised employees in the fields of excavation supervision, borehole and surface sounding, geophysics, special tasks and administration.
All recoveries to date have been accident-free.
Röhll uses state-of-the-art active and passive sounding systems to clear munitions, munition scrap and bombs detected on sections of terrain.
Borehole sounding is carried out by specialists from Röhll using drilling systems that have been specially adapted for the on-site conditions – e.g. incorporating the use of a magnetometer, in strict compliance with safety standards.
Experienced Röhll specialists are able to recover explosive ordnance year-round with the appropriate sounding and recovery technology. The objective is to achieve official certification to confirm the terrain is free from explosive ordnance.
Geomagnetic mapping is used to record magnetic anomalies caused by ferromagnetic objects (e.g. bombs and other munitions and munition remnants) using a computer-aided data logger.
We are certified explosive ordnance disposal service
We are particularly proud of the accident-free recovery of explosive ordnance since 1946. This can largely be attributed to the high standards in place in terms of occupational safety and quality.
Röhll is a member of the Güteschutzgemeinschaft Kampfmittelräumung Deutschland (German association for maintaining standards in EOD) and has received the RAL quality seal for EOD.
